City of Seward, Alaska City Council Minutes <br /> April 12, 2010 Volume 38, Page 267 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Iwo <br /> The April 12, 2010 regular meeting of the Seward City Council was called to order at 7:00 <br /> p.m. by Vice Mayor Jean Bardarson. <br /> OPENING CEREMONY <br /> Police Chief Tom Clemons led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> There were present: <br /> Vice Mayor Jean Bardarson presiding and Linda Amberg <br /> Bob Valdatta Vanta Shafer <br /> Marianna Keil Tom Smith <br /> comprising a quorum of the Council; and <br /> Kris Erchinger, Acting City Manager <br /> Jean Lewis, City Clerk <br /> Cheryl Brooking, City Attorney <br /> him ABSENT — Willard E. Dunham <br /> CITIZENS' COMMENTS ON ANY SUBJECT EXCEPT THOSE ITEMS SCHEDULED <br /> FOR PUBLIC HEARING <br /> Nici Murawsky spoke for Dan Oliver who was at the Wisconsin boatyard, thanking the <br /> council for all their great support toward the homeporting of the M/V Sikuliaq. She handed out t- <br /> shirts and an artists rendition for the M/V Sikuliaq. <br /> Rhonda Hubbard, handed out a commercial fishing news page and explained about the <br /> information it entailed such as processors, revenues and values of the fish landed in Seward. She <br /> pointed out that Seward was the 9 ranking port in America for value because of halibut and <br /> sablefish. <br /> Tim McDonald, pointed out the taxes that were generated revenue on the commercial fishing <br /> page handed out. He thought oil and gas taxes dropped, along with mining and fuel, but noted fish <br /> taxes had increased. He thought the harbor rates were non - negotiable and very high. He spoke of his <br /> opinions of their terrible policies and how the city was liable. <br /> APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Motion (Keil/Amberg) Approval of Agenda and Consent Agenda <br /> Based on Legislative action today, the following resolution was pulled from the agenda. <br />
