City of Seward, Alaska City Council Minutes <br /> January 24, 2011 Volume 38, Page 508 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The January 24, 2011 regular meeting of the Seward City Council was called to order at 7:00 <br /> p.m. by Mayor Willard E. Dunham. <br /> OPENING CEREMONY <br /> Police Chief Tom Clemons led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> There were present: <br /> Willard E. Dunham presiding and Marianna Keil <br /> Jean Bardarson Vanta Shafer <br /> Bob Valdatta Ristine Casagranda <br /> comprising a quorum of the Council; and <br /> Phillip Oates, City Manager <br /> Johanna Kinney, City Clerk <br /> Brenda Ballou, Deputy Clerk <br /> Cheryl Brooking, City Attorney <br /> ABSENT — Tom Smith <br /> CITIZENS' COMMENTS ON ANY SUBJECT EXCEPT THOSE ITEMS SCHEDULED <br /> FOR PUBLIC HEARING <br /> Scott Seabury introduced himself as the Planning and Zoning Commission applicant on the <br /> council agenda tonight. He knew of city's trouble keeping the commission full and felt it was time <br /> to step to the plate. <br /> Dan Seavey spoke in support of the library bond issue and hoped the council would have a <br /> unanimous vote on the bond resolution before the council tonight. He thanked Keith Campbell and <br /> the committee for their efforts. <br /> APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Motion (Bardarson /Shafer) Approval of Agenda and Consent Agenda <br /> Council added the following item under new business: <br /> Discussion on researching other funding options for the library museum project. <br /> lisar <br /> Motion Passed Unanimous <br />
