Meeting Date: June 15, 2011 9 To: Historic Preservation Commission 4 ASK P From: Library Director, Patricia Linville Library /Museum Staff, Amy Carney Agenda Item: Historic Preservation Award Nominations BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION: In 1995 the Council passed a resolution approving the Historic Preservation Commission's resolution that proposed initiating an annual award recognizing individuals in the community for their contributions to the preservation of Seward's history. In the February 16, 2011 regular meeting, the commission passed a new resolution (2011 -001) with corrections and updates. The resolution states that award nomination forms must be returned by April 1 of each year, so the award may be presented in May. The deadline has passed, and zero nominations have been given to Seward Community Library and the City Clerk's Office. RECOMMENDATIONS: In light of the lack of nominations from the public, staff recommends that the Commission move forward and present the HPC Award in May 2012. i 3 Historic Preservation Agenda Statement e- X4 a Meeting Date: June 15, 2011 I Ast‘P To: Historic Preservation Commission From: Library Director, Patricia Linville Library /Museum Staff, Amy Carney Agenda Item: Discussion and Revision of Future Grant Projects BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION: Attached is a list of possible future grant applications that was generated at the July 21 and September 14, 2010 work sessions.
