Call to Order <br /> The May 1, 2012 Regular Meeting of the Seward Planning & Zoning Commission was <br /> called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Roach'. <br /> Opening Ceremony <br /> Commissioner Butts led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> Roll Call <br /> There were present: <br /> Sandie Roach' presiding, and <br /> Dale Butts Cindy Ecklund <br /> Tena Morgan <br /> comprising a quorum of the Commission; and <br /> Donna Glenz, City Planner <br /> Dwayne Atwood, Planning Technician <br /> City Administration Report <br /> City Planner Donna Glenz updated the Commission on the following business items: <br /> • The Seward Highway at the Trial River Bridge was scheduled to be closed nightly from 10 <br /> p.m. through 6 a.m. from May 7 through May 10. <br /> • The Resurrection Bay Conservation Alliance had been working with the City of Seward to <br /> restore the bank vegetation along lower Scheffler Creek. <br /> • Two proposed City Code changes and a proposed rezone action had been moved forward <br /> to City Council and would be introduced on May 14. <br /> • Two ordinances relating to three tax foreclosure parcels were slated to go before City <br /> Council for introduction on May 14. One parcel was in the Crawford Subdivision in the <br /> Resurrection River area, and two parcels were along First Avenue between Madison and <br /> Monroe streets. <br /> • Staff worked with the Seward Bear Creek Flood Service Area to complete a public mailing <br /> of floodplain development information. <br /> • The last regularly scheduled local visit by Social Security Administration representatives <br /> was slated for June. <br /> • A joint work session with City Council was scheduled for May 14 to formulate <br /> .. recommendations regarding Alaska Public Offices Commission financial reporting <br /> requirements for local officials. <br />
