HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2013-002 Sponsored by: Applicant CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION 2013 -02 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA GRANTING A SIX (6) MONTH EXTENSION TO FLOODPLAIN VARIANCE 2012 -01 ISSUED TO DENNIS AND PATRICIA PERRY TO CONSTRUCT AN AIRCRAFT HANGAR UP TO 4 FEET BELOW BASE FLOOD ELEVATION ON LOT 7, BLOCK 200 SEWARD AIRPORT, 2106 AIRPORT ROAD WHEREAS, on September 4, 2012 the Planning and Zoning Commission approved Resolution 2012 -06 granting Dennis and Patricia Perry a Floodplain Variance to construct an aircraft hangar on Seward Airport Lease Lot 7 Block 200, Seward Airport, leased from the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, The Seward City Code (SCC) 15.10.325. (F) stipulates that the Commission may grant a time extension not to exceed six months upon finding that circumstances have not changed sufficiently since the date of the initial permit approval; and low WHEREAS, on January 7, 2013, Dennis Perry requested a six month extension of Floodplain Variance Permit 2012 -01, stating within the request there had been no change in the plans; and WHEREAS, The written request for extension was submitted to the Community Development Department prior to the expiration of the permit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission that: Section 1. The Commission finds that circumstances have not changed sufficiently to warrant reconsideration of the Floodplain Variance Permit issued to Dennis and Patricia Perry on September 14, 2012, to construct an aircraft hangar up to 4 feet below base flood elevation on Lot 7, Block 200 Seward Airport, 2106 Airport Road. Section 2. Floodplain Variance Permit 2012 -01 issued to Dennis and Patricia Perry on """ September 14, 2012 is hereby extended until September, 2013.
