Sponsored by: Applicant <br /> fir.. <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> RESOLUTION 2013-16 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING <br /> COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, GRANTING A <br /> SECOND SIX (6) MONTH EXTENSION TO CONDITIONAL USE <br /> PERMIT 2012-01, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS, ISSUED TO LEIF <br /> OLSON FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SINGLE FAMILY HOME ON <br /> THAT PORTION OF GOVT. LOT 1 LYING EAST OF THE SEWARD <br /> HIGHWAY AND THE ALASKA RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY, WITHIN <br /> THE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ZONING DISTRICT; LOCATED AT <br /> 2608 SEWARD HIGHWAY <br /> WHEREAS, on August 21, 2012 the Planning and Zoning Commission approved <br /> Resolution 2012-11 granting a Conditional Use Permit to Leif Olson for the development of a <br /> single family home on that portion of Govt. Lot 1 lying east of the Seward Highway and the <br /> Alaska Railroad right of way, within the Resource Management Zoning District, located at 2608 <br /> Seward Highway; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Seward City Code (SCC) 15.10.320 G (1) stipulates an approved <br /> Conditional Use Permit lapses six (6) months after approval if no building permit is procured or <br /> if the allowed use is not initiated; and <br /> WHEREAS, (SCC) 15.10.320. G (2) states the Commission may grant time extensions <br /> not to exceed six (6) months each upon the finding that circumstances have not changed <br /> sufficiently to warrant a reconsideration of the approval of the CUP; and <br /> WHEREAS, on August 26, 2013 Mike Insalaco, on behalf of Leif Olson, requested a <br /> second six month extension of CUP 2012-01, stating within the request there had been no <br /> changes to the original plan. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission that: <br /> Section 1. The Commission finds that circumstances have not changes sufficiently to <br /> warrant reconsideration of the Conditional Use Permit issued to Leif Olson for the development <br /> of a single family home on that portion of Govt. Lot 1 lying east of the Seward Highway and the <br /> Alaska Railroad right of way, within the Resource Management Zoning District, located at 2608 <br /> Seward Highway. <br /> Section 2. Conditional Use Permit 2012-01, issued to Leif Olson on August 31, 2012 is <br /> hereby extended until February, 2014. <br /> '"�' Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br />
