CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2004-05
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, RE-APPROPRIATING $5,950 UNSPENT IN FY 2003 FOR THE
PURCHASE OF TURN OUT GEAR FOR FIVE FIREFIGHTERS
WHEREAS, all departments in the City were asked in May to put a hold on major spending
until finance assessed the need for budgetary cuts; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department in compliance with this request, did not place any major
orders for fire fighter equipment that was approved for purchase in our 2003 budget; and
WHEREAS, the order was placed in September 2003, with anticipated delivery dates
between the end of November and the first of December, 2003; and
WHEREAS, funds were budgeted and approved in FY 2003 for the purchase ofthe Turn out
gear; and
WHEREAS, we were advised the first of December, that due to delays outside of our control
these custom made turn-outs would not be delivered until mid to late January, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department needs to purchase a minimum number of sets ofturn-out
gear each year to provide adequate equipment for the Volunteer Fire Fighters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA that:
Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the appropriation of$S,9S0 from the General
Fund Balance account no. 101-0000-3050 to the Volunteer Fire Department account no. 101-1221-
5460.
Section 2. This resolution shall take affect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th day of
January, 2004.
