OUR HISTORY The Kenai Boys and Girls Club was founded in 1988 by a group of concerned individuals in response to the growing needs for the children of our community. The Club was initially staffed by volunteer board members. In 1989, in an effort clarify our area of responsibility, we changed our name to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula. We are a membership club of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. OUR BOARD Our Board of Directors is comprised of 12-19 community leaders, and is the active governing body of out clubs. Our core responsibilities are: 1. Determine the Organizations 7. Ensure Effective Organizational Mission and Purpose Planning 2. Select the Chief Executive 8. Enhance the Organizations Public 3.
