This procedure will best serve the needs of the City and accomplish the objectives of Seward City Code Title 6 Purchasing,Contracts and Professional Services. Using the RFP process allows vendors to have dialogue with us on our specifications, allows for alternative methods to the specifications without changing the desired function and allows for substitutions that may save money. We will still follow the requirements for advertising,sealed proposals,evaluation criteria,award of contract and bond posting for the RFP.Attached to this memorandum is the evaluation criteria that will be used for the RFP and copies of all or the top three will be submitted to the Council for their approval of the award of contract. We are also asking for the latitude to consider the purchase of stock or demo unit that meets most or all of our specifications.This may shorten the delivery time of the vehicle substantially and may be a better value to the City. • Fire `__ :f David Squires .
