OPENING CEREMONY Board Member Christy Terry led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL There were present: Darryl Schaefermeyer, presiding, and Laura Schneider Carl Hughes Christy Terry Absent — Bruce Jaffa, Colby Lawrence Comprising a quorum of the Council; and Norm Regis, Harbor Master Matt Chase, Deputy Harbor Master Absent — Ron Long SPECIAL ORDERS, PRESENTATIONS AND REPORTS Brooke Andrews Alaska Railroad Report Terry mentioned there will be 69 cruise ships in 2018 as opposed to 63 in 2017. The Windstar Cruise line is part of the increase. Motion Passed Unanimous Selection of September 20, 2017 Work Session Topic, "Review and make recommendations to the Seward Marine Industrial Center (SMIC) development plan". Motion (Hughes/Terry) Motion Passed Unanimous BOARD COMMENTS Andrews - None Hughes will be absent for the October and November meetings. Terry will be absent for the October 2nd meeting. She will be at the AAHPA's Annual Conference in Petersburg. She welcomed Laura Schneider, PACAB's newest board member and Latesha Layne, Executive Liaison. Schneider thanked everyone for the warm welcome. Schaefermeyer suggested a board field trip to SMIC. He welcomed Laura Schneider, PACAB's newest board member and Latesha Layne, Executive Liaison.
