HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1980-010 r CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO.80-10 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SEWARD SUBSTATION AND MILE 24 SWITCHING STATION WHEREAS, the voters of Seward approved the expansion of the Seward Electric System; and WHEREAS, a portion of the monies approved for the expansion of the electric system was to be spent for construction of a new substation; and WHEREAS, the City of Seward has advertised, received and publicly opened bids for the above contract at 10:00 a.m. on January 23, 1980 in the office of CH2M Hill, Anchorage; and ~IEREAS, to meet construction schedule and completion of the substation by the fall of 1980 it is necessary to award the construction contract so that the required contractor-supplied materials may be ordered at an early date; and WHEREAS, the bid submitted by Fischbach and Moore of Alaska for $524,695 was below the Engineer's Estimate of $635,000; and WHEREAS, at the recommendation of our engineer, CH2M Hill, they suggest awarding the contract to: Fischbach and Moore of Alaska 700 "H" Street, Suite 9 Anchorage, Alaska Federal I.D. Number 95-2302828 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that the City of Seward hereby accepts the bid of Fischbach and Moore of Alaska for the amount of $524,695 and for the terms as bid on December 11, 1979. PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this 26th day of February, 1980.
