CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2003-018
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A
PURCHASE ORDER TO WESCO FOR A 1000 KV A, 12470GRDY17200 -
277/480 VOLT, 3-PHASE, STAINLESS STEEL TRANSFORMER FOR USE
AT THE ALASKA RAILROAD PASSENGER DOCK
WHEREAS, The Alaska Railroad is remodeling the Terminal Building on the Passenger
Dock in Seward; and
WHEREAS, As part of the remodeling the Alaska Railroad will be relocating their main
service to the building and rewiring sections ofthe building requiring a new transformer to serve the
load; and
WHEREAS, The City of Seward has determined the requirements for the transformer and
issued a request for quotes from six (6) electrical supply companies located in Anchorage; and
WHEREAS, Three companies responded with quotes which meet the specifications with
Wesco supplying the low quote of$12,950.00; and
WHEREAS, Funding is available in the Electric Enterprise Fund under Account 501-5300-
5440 and the price of$12,950.00 will be added to the cost ofthe job for installing the power to the
Terminal Building which is paid by the Alaska Railroad.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Acting City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase order to Wesco,
Inc. in the amount of$12,950.00 to cover the purchase ofa 1000 KV A stainless steel transformer as
detailed in their quote to the City of Seward dated January 27, 2003.
Section 2.
The cost of this transformer will be reimbursed by the Alaska Railroad.
Section 3.
This resolution to take effect immediately.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 10th
day of February, 2003.
