THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 715
~HEREAS, a resident Kenai Peninsula Community College facility would benefit
all of the residents of the Kenai Peninsula, and
WHEREAS, present plans call for the construction of a facility which would
provide for academic, vocational and cultural development, and
WHEREAS, community colleges are an obvious vehicle for an overall educational
approach, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Seward, Alaska, support the efforts of
the University of Alaska in extending its community college facilities across
the State,
IIDtl, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOlVED that the Seward City Council supports the
construction of a d~time college facility on the Kenai Peninsula to provide
vocational, academic and cultural development opportunities to the residents
of the Peninsula through an expansion of the community college program through~
out the Peninsula.
This Resolution shall be effective upon its passage and approval. Passed and
approved by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 23rd d~ of
February, 1970.
