RESOLUTION NO 776
WHEREAS ,our fair City traditionally responds to springtime with a
CLEAN-UP, PAINT-UP, FIX-UP TIME, and people know this is necessary
and rewarding after wintertime; and
WHER EAS. the appearance of a community reflects the quality of community
concern and dignity, making a lasting impression upon young people; and
WHEREAS, it is hoped that many visitors will come to Seward to enjoy
the recreational advantages of our City and our hospitality; and
WHEREAS, we are striving to make Seward into the most beautiful city
in Alaska, and even though worthwhile work has been accomplished in recent
years, there is still much to be done;
NOW. TIIEREFORE, We. the Mayor and City Councilmen of the City of
Seward. Alaska. do hereby proclaim the period from April 20, 1970 to
May 20, 1970 as CLEAN-UP. PAINT-UP, FIX-UP MONnI in the City of
Seward. and request all citizens to wholeheartedly join in this work; and
do hereby resolve that the City shall lead. support and encourage this,
program throughout April 20 to May 20, 1970.
Passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Seward. Alaska.
