<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2002-001 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br />SPECIAL SERVICES CONTRACT, AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $20,000, <br />WITH DRYDEN & LARUE TO PERFORM DESIGN SERVICES RELATED <br />TO THE AKDOT/PF SEWARD HIGHWAY 0-8 PROJECT, SPECIFICALLY <br />THE RELOCATION OF CITY OF SEWARD ELECTRICAL SERVICES IN <br />THE VICINITY OF STONEY CREEK AVENUE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities has <br />requested that the City of Seward Electrical Department engage the engineering firm of Dryden & <br />LaRue to provide drawing and specifications for the relocation of City electrical facilities in the <br />vicinity of Stoney Creek Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dryden & LaRue has submitted a cost of $20,000 to provide the services <br />requested by the State of Alaska; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, professional services are exempt from competitive procurement procedures per <br />Seward City Code Section 6.10.120 (8); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has given written confirmation that they will pay for the <br />engineering services required to provide the drawings and specifications for the electrical <br />relocations/construction at Stoney Creek Avenue which are necessary for their project to proceed; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the AKDOT/PF has required that these drawings and specifications be <br />completed by January 15th, 2002, with preliminary design completed by December 31,2001; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the engineering department has given Dryden & LaRue authorization to <br />proceed with the design to comply with the AKDOT/PF deadlines. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Dryden & LaRue to <br />perform engineering services for the AKDOT/PF Seward Highway 0-8 project related to the <br />relocation/construction of City electrical facilities in the vicinity of Stoney Creek Avenue at a cost of <br />$20,000, all of which will be reimbursed by the State of Alaska. <br /> <br />Section 2. This Resolution to take effect immediately upon passage. <br />
