<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2001-015 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE A <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH DRYDEN & LARUE, INC. <br />TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES AS OUTLINED IN THEIR <br />PROPOSAL DATED JANUARY 11, 2001 AND AS PREVIOUSLY <br />AUTHORIZED BY COUNCIL FOR A REVISED COST NOT -TO-EXCEED <br />$203,000. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Seward has two generators which need replacing to maintain the <br />ability of the City to provide stand-by electrical power in the event of interruption of the power <br />supply from Chugach Electric; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Seward has received a $1,088,500 grant from the State of Alaska <br />to replace these generators, a portion of which can be used for engineering services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dryden & LaRue has prepared a report detailing the needs of the City to <br />replace these generators with modem equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dryden & LaRue has originally submitted and Council approved a proposal <br />to do the engineering for this project for an amount not-to-exceed $178,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dryden & LaRue have been invaluable during the course of this project and <br />have provided services not originally contemplated under this contract; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dryden & LaRue have provided an amended scope of work proposal extending <br />the contract by $25,000 to $203,000; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dryden & LaRue has been determined to be uniquely qualified to do this <br />project and has submitted a reasonable price, thereby making competitive bidding unnecessary <br />according to Section 6.10.120, A-8; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br />
