CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-007
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
AN ELECTRIC SWITCH FOR SPRING CREEK CORRECTIONAL
CENTER WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the placement of a switch within the electric
distribution system serving Spring Creek Correctional Center would
increase the reliability of service to the facility; and
WHEREAS, the switch is a highly specialized piece of equipment
distributed by electrical dealers; and
WHEREAS, quotes were requested from electrical suppliers
serving Alaska; and
WHEREAS, two quotes were received and the low quote was from
Debenham Electric Supply;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 6.10.120(5)
of the City Code, it is in the public interest to waive formal bid
procedures for the purchase of the electric switch.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase
order to Debenham Electric Supply for the purchase of an electric
switch in an amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Five Hundred Ninety
Nine Dollars ($10,599).
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 22nd day of January, 1990.
