RESOLUTION NO. 90-017
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO SUPPORT
A KENAI PENINSULA AREA WIDE CUSTOMS PORT OF ENTRY OFFICE
WHEREAS, the city of Seward has been working with Kenai
Peninsula Borough cities to acquire an area wide customs port of
entry office: and
WHEREAS, in 1989, Senator Stevens was successful in changing
federal law to allow a reimbursable customs port office in Kenai:
and
WHEREAS, in February, 1988, the City Council passed a
resolution committing the city to support the said customs office
by appropriating an initial $30,000 for the cost of services and
$20,000 per year thereafter:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000) is
hereby appropriated from the Harbor Fund Balance No. 401-0000-3050
to the Harbor-Marine Development, Special Services Account No. 401-
4400-5190.
section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 26th day of February, 1990.
