CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-018
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO
AEROMAP U.S., INC. FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WITHOUT
FULL UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the city contracted with AeroMap, U.S. to take aerial
photographs suitable for mapping the SMIC area in July, 1989; and
WHEREAS, addi tional mapping is needed in certain areas,
including Spring Creek Correctional Center, in the Seward Marine
Industrial Center to assist the State Department of Transportation
and Public Facilities to design improvements to the existing
inadequate storm drainage system in the area; and
WHEREAS, the maps will benefit the City in planning and
designing various projects and utilities in or adjacent to this
area; and
WHEREAS, the award of contracts for professional services are
exempt from the bid procedures set forth in the City Code; and
WHEREAS, AeroMap U. S. is a professional contractor well
qualified to perform the work necessary to produce the needed maps
and has submitted a cost proposal to the city; and
WHEREAS, funding for the mapping is available wi thin the
prison fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a
contract to AeroMap U. S. in an amount not to exceed Sixteen
Thousand Five hundred Dollars ($16,500) to map certain areas
including SCCC in the Seward Marine Industrial area.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 12th day of March, 1990.
