RESOLUTION 2000-024
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, RECLASSIFYING THE PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
POSITION FROM A RANGE 7.5 TO A RANGE 15 AND CHANGING THE
TITLE TO PARKING OPERATIONS MANAGER
WHEREAS, in 1999 the City took over management of paid parking in the Seward Small
Boat Harbor; and
WHEREAS,the City Council decided that the City would run the operation for the summer
2000 season and changes to enhance the operation would be brought to the Council; and
WHEREAS, an evaluation of the 1999 season determined the position of Parking
Enforcement Officer included significantly more responsibility than originally estimated and was in
need of reclassification; and
WHEREAS,a new job description incorporating the additional duties and responsibilities has
been written and a new salary range has been determined; and
WHEREAS, this reclassification does not require additional funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The position of Parking Enforcement Officer is hereby reclassified from a Range
7.5 ($10.59/hr) to a Range 15 ($15.27/hr) and the title changed to Parking Operations Manager
effective March 26, 2000.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 13th day
of March, 2000.
