Port and Commerce Advisory <br />Rnard was called to order at 12:01 p.m. by Chairman Ron Long. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />There were present: <br /> <br />Ron Long, presiding, and <br />Willard Dunham <br />Dean Kasischk~ <br /> <br />Sharon Anderson <br />Richard Goshorn <br />James Pruitt <br /> <br />comprising a quorum of the Board; and <br /> <br />Michael Yanez, Deputy City Manager <br />Louis Bencardino, Mayor, KPB/EDD <br />Foster Singleton, Harhormast~r <br />Barhara Hilderbrand, Board Secretary <br />Yvette Welsh, Community Marketing <br />Kathleen Cline, Seward Chamher of Commerce <br />Margaret Anderson, Vice Mayor <br />Marianna Keit, Councilmembcr. LIO <br /> <br />ABSENT were: <br /> <br />David Fairchild (excused) <br />Jack Goodwill (excused) <br />Doug Lechner (excused) <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br />Dorothy Urhach - ARRlCBC. None (excused). <br /> <br />Louis Bencardino - KPB/EDD. Bencaruino briefed the board on recent <br />conversalions with EDD Executive Director Stan Steadman. Steadman had expressed his <br />condolences for Alyeska Alloys' J.~\.:islon not to locate its iron carbide plant in Seward. <br />Steadman also declared his commitment to help secure funds for the future operation of the <br />local shellfish hatch~ry in light of the State's decision to withdraw such operating support. <br />Dunham and Anderson introduced discussiun about a market analysis on lands within the <br />Burough done several years ago, and Bencanlino stated that he would follow up on till: <br />matt~r. <br /> <br />Administration Report. Yanez commented on the disclosure by AlYl:ska Alloys not <br />to locate in Seward. He recounted sentiment'" expressed by City Manager Garzini that <br />
