<br />Ocyn/Seward,4Inska <br /> <br />Porr and Commerce Advis01Y Board A-finures <br />Volume 3, Page 112 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The regular January 5, 2000, meeting of the Seward P0I1 and Commerce Advisory Board was <br />called to order at 12:03 p m. by Chairman Ron Long. <br /> <br />ROI,L CALL <br /> <br />There were present: <br /> <br />Ron Long, presiding, and <br /> <br />Jack Goodwill <br />Ron Wille <br />Deborah Altermatl <br /> <br />Melody Jordan <br />Doug Lechner <br /> <br />comprising a quorum of the Board; and <br /> <br />Scott Janke, City Manager <br />James Beckham, Harbormaster <br />Vanta Shafer, KPBIEDD Representative <br />Judi Sweeney, PACAH Seclelary <br /> <br />ABSENT and excused were: <br /> <br />Richard Goshorn <br />Dean Kasischke <br /> <br />James Pruitt <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENT A nONS AND REPORTS <br /> <br />Vanta Shafer - KPR/F:DD reported that the December 30, interviews were held for a <br />director and a selection should be made soon <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION REPORT <br /> <br />City Mana~cr Janke reported that the Spenard Building Supply proposal is moving forward. <br />He received a draft agreement from SBS which will be reviewed in-house on Friday and SBS's <br />President Ed Waite will be here Monday, January 10 He felt confident that he would take it to <br />council on the first meeting in FebrualY Janke said he had reassured Northland Barge Company that <br />the North Dock is a public dock and Spenard Building Supply would hold a terminal use agreement <br />and would not be the sole user of the dock. <br /> <br />Janke said he and possibly Mayor Blatchford would be attending a railroad connection <br />meeting in Vancouver on January 20 He explained that there is a movement to have the Canadian <br />railroad connect with the Alaskan railroad and it could have a negative affect on Seward.
