<br />City of Seward, Alaska <br />January 21,2004 <br /> <br />Call to Order <br /> <br />"'11'\9 <br />.l~r <br />Historic Preservation Commission Minutes <br />Volume 1, Page 199 <br /> <br />The January 21, 2004 regular meeting ofthe Seward Historic Preservation Commission was <br />called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Vice-Chair Doug Capra. <br /> <br />Opening Ceremony <br /> <br />Lorenz led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br /> <br />There were present: <br /> <br />Doug Capra, Chair presiding, and <br /> <br />Kirsten Wheat <br />Tom Swann <br /> <br />Dorene Lorenz <br /> <br />comprising a quorum ofthe Commission; and <br /> <br />Malcolm Brown, Planner <br />Donna Glenz, Planning Assistant <br /> <br />Absent was: Iris Darling - excused <br />Shannon Kovac - excused <br /> <br />Special Reports <br /> <br />City Administration Report <br /> <br />Brown stated that the Commission held a work session on site at the Jesse Lee Home on <br />January 14,2004. He noted that several Commissioners and the Seward Phoenix Log attended. A <br />discussion was held on stabilization for the Home. <br /> <br />Other Reports, Announcements & Presentations - None <br /> <br />Citizen Comments on Agenda Items Not Scheduled For Public Hearing - None <br /> <br />City Clerk, Jean Lewis presentation on new orientation handbook <br /> <br />City Clerk, Jean Lewis introduced herself and thanked the Commission for the hard work that <br />the Historic Preservation Commission has done. She congratulated the Commission on receiving the <br />Ester Billman award on behalf of the City. She noted that the City has many old records in the <br />basement of City Hall. She expressed concerns for the proper storage of the original City documents. <br />Lewis explained the orientation handbook the Clerk's office had presented to each of the <br />Commissioners. <br />
