CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 92-005
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY PROCEED
WITH THE CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT
APPLICATION PROCESS
WHEREAS, the Certified Local Government designation is beneficial to the
community of Seward; and
WHEREAS, federal grants are available through the State of Alaska for various
historical preservation projects; and
WHEREAS, eligibility for funding is dependent on approved certified local
government status prior to submitting proposed projects for funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. The City Council is urged to direct the city to proceed with the
application process for certified local government designation.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this
1st day of April, 1992.
