<br />Sponsored by Tones <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-007 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING <br />COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING ADOPTION OF THE PARKS <br />AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward adopted the Comprehensive Plan in 1985 and <br />updated the Plan in 1990; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 1990 updated Plan recommended that the city should prepare a <br />community wide Parks and Recreation Master Plan to identify existing facility needs and <br />additional needed facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a comprehensive plan establishing public parks and recreation needs <br />is an essential part of the community planning process; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during the period between December 1992 and March 1993, <br />presentations were made to local groups, including the Seward Senior Citizens, PAC, <br />PTSA, Downtown Merchants, Little League, Trails Council and Rotary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a number of public meetings were held to discuss and develop a <br />Seward Parks and Recreation Plan; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning <br />Commission that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Seward Parks and Recreation Master Plan, attached and <br />incorporated herein by reference, is recommended for adoption by the City CounciL <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this <br />7th day of April, 1993. <br />
