PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 94-010
A RESOLUTION OF TIlE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TIlE SEWARD
ZONING MAPS AND REZONING ALL R2 AND R3 ZONING DISTRICTS
WITHIN URBAN RESIDENTIAL LAND USE PLAN AREAS TO "UR"
WHEREAS, Ordinance 665 amended the land use plan ofthe city to create a new Urban
Residential Land Use and Zoning District designation to allow for an area of higher density
mixed residential and professional home office uses in the area surrounding the downtown area;
and
WHEREAS, zoning is a tool to implement the land use plan; and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning amendments generally reflect community development
direction, bring zoning into conformance with the land use plan, and provide for additional
flexibility in land uses; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was conducted by the Planning and Zoning Commission
on June 1, 1994;
NOW, TIlEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. The City Council is encouraged to adopt an ordinance, attached and
incorporated herein by reference, amending the official city zoning map to change all R2 and
R3 zones within Urban Residential Land Use areas to UR.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this 1st
day of June, 1994.

ORDINANCE NO. 94-27
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE SEWARD ZONING MAPS BY REZONING ALL
R2 AND R3 ZONING DISTRICTS WITHIN URBAN RESIDENTIAL LAND
USE PLAN AREAS (SOUTH OF THE BOAT HARBOR) TO IIURII
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 665 amended the Land Use Plan of the city to create a new
Urban Residential Land Use and Zoning District designation to allow for an area of higher

downtown area; and
WHEREAS, zoning is a tool to implement the land use plan; and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning amendments generally reflect community development

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. The official city zoning map is amended to change all R2 and R3 zones
within Urban Residential Land Use areas to UR.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
