Home My WebLink AboutRes1996-010 Sponsored by Skibeness CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO SCC ~ 2.30.220 MEETINGS AND QUORUM FOR THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION WHEREAS, the Seward City Code ~ 1.01.045 allows amendments to the code including the addition of new sections not heretofore existing in the code; and WHEREAS, the Seward City Code ~ 2.10.031 restricts city council action after 11:00 pm requiring adjournment of regular and special meetings with all general public presentations and comments heard prior to that time; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission desires a similar restriction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission that: Section 1. The attached proposed ordinance, incorporated herewith by reference, is recommended to the City Council for adoption. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately after its adoption. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that: Section 1. That the code of the city of Seward, Alaska, is hereby amended by the addition of section 2.30.220: D. The commission shall take no official action after 11:00 p.m. and shall adjourn any regular or special meeting no later than 11:00 p.m. The time for conclusion of legislative business and adjournment is mandatory. In the event that the commission business has not been completed by the time set herein, the commission may adjourn the meeting to another day, call a special meeting to complete the agenda and adjourn, or adjourn. E. If the meeting is adjourned without making other provision for completion of the agenda items, then such uncompleted matters shall be presented at the next regularly scheduled council meeting under the agenda section for unfinished business. F. The commission shall not adjourn prior to 11:00 p.m. unless all presentations and comments by members of the general public have been heard. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment. ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this _ day of June, 1996.
