<br />Sponsored by Staff <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-04 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING <br />COMMISSION, EXTENDING THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, ISSUED TO BRAD <br />SNOWDEN ON SEPTEMBER 4, 1996 FOR DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATION OF A <br />HOTEL ON ALASKA RAILROAD LEASE PROPERTY WITHIN THE SMALL BOAT <br />HARBOR, UNTIL MAY 8, 1997 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 4, 1996, the Planning & Zoning Commission issued an <br />amended Conditional Use permit to Brad Snowden for the development and operation of a hotel <br />on Alaska Railroad lease property in the Small Boat Harbor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Zoning Code stipulates that an approved conditional use permit lapses <br />six (6) months after approval if no building permit is procured or if the allowed use is not <br />initiated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to date a building permit has not been procured and the conditional use has <br />not been initiated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, SCC S 15.10.320 (E) allows the Commission to grant time extensions not <br />to exceed six months each upon a finding that circumstances have not changed sufficiently to <br />warrant a reconsideration of the approval of the CUP; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on February 19, 1997, the applicant requested a six month time extension <br />of the amended CUP. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning <br />Commission that: <br /> <br />Section 1. Additional information is needed from the developer in order for the <br />Commission to determine whether or not circumstances have changed sufficiently to warrant a <br />reconsideration of the approval of the amended Conditional Use Permit issued to Brad Snowden <br />on September 4, 1996. <br /> <br />Section 2. In order for the permittee to provide additional information to the Commission, <br />the Conditional Use Permit issued to Brad Snowden on September 4, 1996 is hereby extended <br />until May 8, 1997. <br />
