PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 2002-23
RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF
THE PRIORITIZATION OF THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN,
GENERAL FUND-RELATED CAPITAL PROJECTS, FISCAL YEAR
2003-2005
WHEREAS, in preparation for the development of the Fiscal Year 2003 Budget
Calendar, in July the City Finance Director; Kristen Erchinger, requested that City Department
Managers submit three year capital budget requests for introduction at the regularly scheduled
meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission on September 3,2002; and
WHEREAS, a capital project is defined as any single repair, project or improvement
with a cost of at least $20,000 and an expected useful life exceeding one year: and
WHEREAS, a capital improvement plan is one of the best ways to implement a
comprehensive plan; and
WHEREAS, an earlier version was introduced to the Commission at the regularly
scheduled meeting of September 3, 2002 and was reviewed at a work session with the City
Manager on September 10, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the Commission prioritized the Capital Improvement Plan, General Fund-
Related Capital Projects, Fiscal Year 2003-2005 at the regularly scheduled meeting of October 2,
2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. The Commission recommends City Council approval of the attached
prioritized Capital Improvement Plan, General Fund-Related Capital Projects, Fiscal
Year 2003-2005.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
