<br />lBMFe <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />.. ,,-....-- <br />L~::. ~ .:) <br /> <br />Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Seward Town Council <br />held January 8th. 1917. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8;30 pm. by Ex-officio <br />Mayor Sauersaand all councilmen were present excepting Chamberlin. <br />Mayor Myers was also absent. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A communication by the Secretary of the Fire Dept. reccomending <br />an improvement on the present fire system, was 'read and after a short <br />discussion Douzherty, Bnl. by Torrey moved that the Mayor appoint a <br />member of the Council to superintend the construction of a lean-to <br />building to the Fire Hall, large enough to house a horse and any <br />necessary fire equipment, also the the fire bell be moved to the <br />hose tower On the fire hall, and the motion carried. The ma yor <br />appointed Councilmen Dubreuil to begin the work at once. <br /> <br />The question of having the jail in the lower part of the fire <br />hall came and the mayor instructed Councilmen Dubreuil to see <br />about the feasibility of having same there. <br /> <br />Dougherty moved that the Mayor be instruoted to appoint some <br />one to paper and paint the meeting room in the FireBall, and <br />motion was 2nd. by Dubreuil and carried, so the Mayor appointed <br />Councilmen Torrey to go ahead with the work at once. <br /> <br />The sale of Lot 38 in Block 14 and building thereon, came <br />up again as J. J. Finnegan did not make good his proposed buy of <br />the property, and Dougherty moved that the olerk publish for 30 <br />days in both newspapers an advertisement offering for sale the <br />building and lot as before named for the sum of $1000.00; terms; <br />1/3 down, 1/3 in 6 months and balance in one year, in.erest at 8% <br />on all deferred payments. Motion was 2nd. by Torrey and carried. <br /> <br />On motion the council then adjourned to meet again January <br />15th. 1917 at 8 pm. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />~(c~ ~ ~~~~';;'Ycr. <br />
