<br />Minuets of the regular meeting of the <br />Seward City Counoil held January, 6, 1919. <br /> <br />1 C' je <br />, , I <br />.... 1"...... \,0" <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The meeting was oalled to order at 8 P.M. by Y~yor Hoben <br />and all members were present except Councilman Lucas. <br /> <br />The minuets of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A communication addressed to the Sew~rd Water and Power <br />from R. J. Weir,Engineer in Charge of the Alaskan EnGineering <br />Co~cission ~as read. It stated that the water supply had been <br />very short and entirely inadequate for fire protection to the <br />New Machine shop. A discussion followed on the matter. Council- <br />man Graff seconded by Councilman Whittemore moved th~t the iliatter <br />re referred to the Fire and water Comr:ittee. The motion carried <br />and it was so ordered. <br /> <br />A communica t: on from Judge 3rown to S. (). =,~orford was read <br />same stating that the order of Sale for the deliquent taxes <br />for the ye'-'er 1917 hai been a'proved and signed. <br /> <br />CouncilmEn Graff askei the Council to allow the Seward <br />Light and power~Seven Hunderd $ 700.00 Dollars for money advanced ( <br />on the new Syrene Fire Whistle. <br /> <br />Councilman Graff seconded by Councilman Whittemore moved <br />t",e pai-lsage of the following resolut~n II BE IT RESOLVED by the <br />Common Council of the City of Sewar~the ium of Seven Hundred <br />($700.00) Dollars be paid to the Seward Light and Power Co. for <br />money advanoei on the New Syrene Fire Alarm~ At the call of the <br />roll all members present voted " aye 11 ani the :Jayor declared <br />the RESOLUTION adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The bills after being Oked by the Finanoe Committee were <br />read as follows:- <br /> <br />J. H. Whittlesey City Assessor would bring the deliquent taxes <br />for the year 1918 up to date. The matter of bringing the deliq- <br />encies forward for thG years 1916 ani 1917 as yet had not been <br />decided upon. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Whittemore seconded by Couticil <br />Cotter the Council then ~djournei until the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />'.(j/l. ~ <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />
