AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE OF CDMPENSATION TO BE HiI D BY THE CITY OF SE'lARD, ALASKA,
TO OFFICERS APPOINTED BE: THE M\ YOR OF SP,[D CITY FOR THE TERM ENDING WITH HIS TERM OF

BE IT ORD.l\INED BY THE CITY CDUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SE\{A,'~D, ALAi'KA,
SeotiOR 1. That the compensation to be paid the Municipal officers of the City of
Seward, Alaska, for the term ending with the term of the }'Jayor is hereby fixed and
established by the terms hereinafter contained in this Ordnance, which compensation shall
be neither increased nor diminished during the continuance in office of said offioers.
Seotion 2. The VlUnicipal Clerk and Magistrate shall receive a monthly salary

Beotion 3. The Municipal Assessor and City Engineer shall receive a monthly
of 1550.00 per month.
Section 4. The Fire Chief shall receive a monthly salary of $550.00 per month.
Section 5. The Supt. of the street Dept. shall receive a monthly salary of $550.00
per month, assistant to receive a salary of $500.00 per month.

Seotion 6. The Chief of Polioe shall reoeive a monthly salary of $550.00,""-"---~""1
all patrolmen to reoeive a salary of $500.00 per month, no housing.
Section 7. The Municipal Mechanio shall receive a salary of $550.00 per month.
Seotion 8. The Municip&l Treasurer shall receive a salary of $100.00 per year.
Seotion 9. The Municipal Health Officer shall receive a salary of $25.00 per month.
Section 10. The HarboIJllaster shall reoeive a salary of $100.00 per month.
S eotion 11. The Janitor for the City Hall shall receive a siary of $100.00 per month.
Section 12. Water Department employees to reoeive a siary of $500.00 per month.
Section 13. City Bookkeeper to receive a salary of $400.00 per month.
Seotion 14. Hourly employees to reoeive a salary at the rate of $3.00 per hour.
Seotion 15. Each of the salaries herein provided for shall be paid of the General
FUnds of the City of Seward, with the exception of the Health Officer which is to be paid
from Sales Tax FuJ\d and paid monthly, and Water Department emplo~" whiah shall be paid
from the Water Dept; salaries to be paid'semi-monthly.
Section 16. All ordinances andparts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed. This ordinance to take effect April 1, 1952.
Section 17. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinanoe shall take
effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
