RESOLUTION 2002-005

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH SANDRA WASSILlE, HIGH TIDE WRITING, AS THE
SEWARD CENTENNIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR.
WHEREAS, Seward's Centennial Celebration will be held in 2003; and
WHEREAS, a Seward Centennial Events Coordinator is needed for the strategic
planning, marketing, public relations, and fund raising developments for the Seward
Centennial Celebrations that will be held through out 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Coordinator is an independent contractor who has a wide range of
decision-making authority regarding event preparation and coordination, and an
understanding of and appreciation for Seward's unique history; and
WHEREAS, in response to a request for Centennial Coordination proposals the City
received one response; and
WHEREAS, applicant Sandra Wassilie, High Tide Writing, has met the qualifications
outlined in the request for proposals; and
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council Centennial Committee recommends the
contract be awarded to Sandra Wassilie, High Tide Writing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Sandra
Wassilie, High Tide Writing, as the Seward Centennial Events Coordinator.
Section 2. Funding to be from Account 101-1110-5990.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14
day of January 2002.
